Despite the fact that girls are welcome to play Wauatosa Little League tee-ball and baseball alongside the boys, only a couple dozen girls registered this year. 

We'd like to change that by creating more appealing opportunities for girls!

· Tee-ball is an excellent foundation for baseball or softball, and is often played co-ed.
· Playing baseball beyond tee-ball is an option for girls.  Over 100,000 girls play youth baseball each year.  The number is steadily growing and we've certainly seen girls challenge the boys on the field.  

However, little girls often have different interests than little boys.  More appealing options for girls may include:
· Grouping girls onto a few co-ed teams to allow a larger number (ie 3-6) of girls on a team and/or
· Creating all girl team(s) that play against boys or co-ed teams .
·  Softball tends to be a more popular option for girls, and an opportunity we would like to create if there is sufficient interest.
