WMLL tee ball teaches the very basic fundamentals of hitting, fielding, throwing, and running the bases. The primary focus is for the kids to have fun while learning the game. The expectation of this division is for 4 to 6yr old players (kindergarteners) to learn the game of baseball; 6yr old 1st graders with no baseball experience are encouraged to play tee ball as well. See age chart below.
We are looking for coaches for tee ball. Coaches are provided with the Little League Tee Ball Program. This 10-week program allows coaches to teach players the fundamentals of the game and learn basic skills while having fun.
The league does its best to build teams with kids from the same schools, neighborhoods, and to fulfill requests. Teams will consist of ~ 6 players per team. If more than 6 players are enrolled from a single school, they will be split across two (or more) teams.
Spring season: Teams will typically play one game a week starting in in the middle of May running through the middle of July. Games are 60 minutes in length with built in practice time for the players. Expect to play up to 10-12 games. Games for the 2024 season will be played at Kops Park Tuesday and/or Thursday starting May 14; outdoor practices will be scheduled individually for each team by coaches once weather allows. See Spring Season program page for more details.
Fall season: Teams typically play one game a week on Sundays starting late August through early October. Players registering for Machine Pitch division in following Spring should sign up for Machine Pitch rather than Tee Ball for the Fall season. Fall 2023 consisted of single games, with built in practice time for the players and was played on Sundays 8/27 thru 10/8 with no games played on 9/6. Stay tuned for Fall 2024 specifics or see the Fall Ball program page for more details.
